An apology was made to Julia Elms for not being able to get into the workshop on January 23, 2002. It was pouring rain and no one heard the door buzzer. Items discussed in the preceding meeting workshop included • Review Monthly Activity Report and Suggestion Box Forms. • Presentation on Support Services — Theresa Seale. • Update on Internet Work Stations. • Schedule for Special Workshop. • Planning for NETLS Quarterly Meeting. • January Board Meeting Re -scheduled. Regular Agenda Approve Minutes of the January 8, 2002, Regular Meeting and January 23, 2002 Workshop. Motion. Upon a motion made by Board member John Ross and a second by Board member Frank Snidow, the Board voted (6) for and none (0) opposed to approve minutes of Janurary 8, 2002, and January 23, 2002 Workshop. 2. Citizen's Comments. There were no Citizen Comments. Presentation of Prelimanary Designs — ProForma Architects. Library Director, Barbara Buehler introduced Jeff Bulla and Stephen Park from ProForma Architecture, Inc. Stephen Park gavea statement of appreciation to Board member John Ross and Former Board member Donna Vanous for their continuing work on the Planning Committee. The restrictions and guidelines of the Central Business District were given. The three concepts presented all fit within the guidelines of the Central Business District. Also the site plan with the St. Mary's Road being extended on the north and Allen Drive and Coats being upgraded. Allen Drive would be used a a "gateway" to the Central Business District and would connect the library with the Civic Plaza. Motion. Upon a motion made by Board member John Ross and seconded by Board member George Christian the board voted (7) for and (0) against to recommend to the Mayor, City Council and Planning Review Committee that the "Court" concept be accepted. The Board members showed appreciation to the architect firm for the work they have accomplished. 3. Review of City of Allen Code of Ethics. The Board had requested John Ross to contact the Mayor and City Manager of Allen about the new proposed Ethics Ordinance. John reported back that the Mayor and City Manager agreed that the Ethics Ordinance would not apply to the Advisory Board Members. 4. Report on NETLS Quarterly Meeting. IBoard members agreed to table this until the next Board Meeting. Calendar. • March 5, 2002, Allen Public Library Board, Regular Meeting. The Board adjourned its regular meeting at 9:45 p an. on Monday, February 11, 2002.
