Sharon Curtis moved that the library close at 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 1996 (New Year's Eve). Frank Suidow seconded. Motion passed. Vlll. Plan for NETLS Geographic meeting - Anyone interested in going should contact Barbara Buehler. Also a reminder that the City Banquet for Boards will be held on December 10 IX. Community Survey - Barbara Buehler distributed surveys from other communities for Board Members in review. The board will then meet twice in January to develop a survey for the City of Allen Public Library X. Other Business - Dora Vanous reported that the City Council has passed the holiday how fundraising program which will take place from November 30 - December 15, 1996. Volunteers will be needed to tar a table during those two weeks. Dome will contact library board members to volunteer. M. Sharon Curtis moved and Donna Vrous seconded to adjourn at 9:15 p.m. I. A joint dinner/workshop meeting of the City of Allen Library Board and Parks & Recreation Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m Dinner was served compliments of Parks Board. Library Board members present were Board Chair, Fria Dietrich, Carl Williams, Dome Various, John Ross, Frank Snidow, Sharon Curtis and Julie Wilmoth. Library Director Barbara Buehler was also present. H. Update on Allen Station Park - After all board members were introduced, Sheila Condon from Clark, Condon Associated presented the plans for Allen Station Park. Ill. Open Discussion - Discussion ensued on ideas for shared activities that the Library Board and Parks Board could work on jointly in the Allen Station Park including: Wildflower Trails with information posted, Musical Programs, Bird Watching with education materials. IV. Adjournment - The joint session adjourned at 8:05 p.m. V. The Library Board re -convened at 8:15 p.m. at the Lakeside Pavilion. Board chair Fritz Dietrich presided. VL Minutes from October 1, 1996 meeting - Donna Various moved and John Ross seconded for approval of the October 1 Board Meeting minutes as submitted. VII.
