CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, ALLEN, TEXAS
June 15th, 1967
Present .
Mayor Gentry T, Jones, Aldermen R.B. Whisenant, Zack Robinson, LeRoy
Ewen, and Mack Holloway.Engineers Walter Hicks and Pat DePampheles.
Visitors ; Mr & Mrs Wendell Roth. Earl Young.
Mr & Mrs Roth was asking for a permit to sell a SNOW-CONE, Cotton-
Candy, Popcorn and Ect. from a truck insidethe City limits of Allen, Tex.
Permit granted, to expire Dec. 20, 1967 Fee 10.00.
Motion
By Zack Robinson to grant Mr Earl Young'' permit too put-up a fence
at his property on south 3rd street east, Motion also amended by R.B.
Whisenant that Mr Young would be reliable for any-thing that might
happen to the fence or otherwise, since the said Fence will be on City
property. Motion second by LeRoy Ewen, amendment second by Zack Robinson.
Motion passed ayes (5) five noes (0) none.
Mr Bailey Whisenant made a report on what progress had been made on the Easements
for the Sewer Line.
Mr Walter Hicks, City Engineer, introduced to the council Mr.
Joe Dillard of Lane Texas Company. who discussed the water situation.
Mr. Walter Hicks recommended the old well be abandoned and ca'ed . He
also thinkd the pump on the new well is worn and should be fixed as soon
as possible, also that the city be considering another well.
Motion: by R. B.Whisenant, that our engineer, Mr. Hicks pre-
pare plans for bids on water well.
Second : by Mack Holloway, motion passed, ayes 5 , noes 0.
Mr. Carl Marion discussed with the council the amount of money the
county pays the Fire Department for fire calls out side city limits .
Motion by R. B . Whisenaht to pay bills presented by city secretary.
Second by LeRoy Ewen, motion passed, ayes 5, noes 0.
Motion by R. B.Whisenant to let Judge Ramsey give Allen prisoners
their rights when placed in the county jail, when Mayor Jones is out
of town. The city will pay Judge Ramsey $5.00 per prisoner for this
service.
Second by Zack Robinson, motion passed, ayes 5, noes 0.
Motion by R. B. Whisenan. t to have red light placed on top of
police cars .
Second by LeRoy Ewen, motion passed, ayes 5, noes 0.
Mayor Gentry T. Jones adjourned meeting.
