Meeting called to order, minutes from last meeting read and approved .
Mayor Jones welcomed the people of Allen to the meeting.
Roy Allen Hefner asked what has been done toward getting water for
the town. Mayor Jones and the council went in much detail to explain
our situation to the people. The estimated cost of going to Lake
Lavon was discussed ($170,000. for six inch line) .
Pete Ford asked if going to Lavon had been thourly investigated, and
was told of our contact with engineers and the effort made by the
Mayor in his contact with Fort Worth offices . The council has had
this under "study for some two years and it appears that at this time
it is not advisable to go to Lavon for water. Mr. Jones agreed to
let Mr. Hicks, (our engineer have another 30 days to investigate
further the water situation before making a definite decision to dig
another well.) Edd Lynge questioned the raising of taxes to provide
more money for city operation, but R. B. Whisenant gave figures
showing that very little would be accomplished by doing this .
Fred Tomlinson wanted to know the complaints against the city policemen,
Dick Martin, and Sandy Sandidge. W. E. Ford had a complaint of them
being parked with lights off and felt they should have a little more
tact and better method of handeling their radar system. Mr. Ford dis-
cussed this with the policemen and felt this matter had been taken care of.
Mrs . Pat Terrell wanted the policemen to be allowed on Hwy #5 at all
times to protect the children going to and from baseball work out . She
felt our policemen were doing a fine job for our city.

needed full time patroling.
Mrs. James Martin mentioned the fact that our policemen worked long
hours and was on call at all time.
W. D. Prince told of the fine job our men were doing and gave an illustration
Jimmy Starr also told of the fine job being done.

properly in our phone book, so he can be contacted when needed.

we did not have adequate protection. Jerry Carpenter complained of gas
missing. George Mote felt our law enforcement was needed and that the
present ones are doing a fine job.
