CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN,
MARCH 7th, 1968
Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen : LeRoy Ewen, Robert. Lowman, Mack Holloway
and Dan Strong.
Mrs D.W. Terrell, asked the Council for a special permite to park a
Trailor-House on their property.
Motion by Dan Strong, to give Mrs Terrell a Special Permit with
SPECIAL AGREEMENT in writing, that the Permit is on a tempory basis
and that the Trailer-House can be moved out with-in 30 days upon
notice from the City Council. Motion sec. by Robert Lowman
Motion passed ayes (4) four / Noes (0) none.
Ordinance # 87 regarding the municipal sales tax for the city of
Allen, was read by Mayor Gentry T. Jones .
Motion by Robert E. Lowman that the Ordinance, as written be passed
and properly signed by Mayor Jones and the Secretary on the (1%) one
per-cent sales tax for the City of Allen.
This motion was second by LeRoy Ewen, motion passed ayes (4) four
None against.
Mr Gibson Engineer for Jan-Mar Devlopment 90. the City Council and
our Engineer Mr. Hicks checked the Plat for the Hillside Village
addition, the discussion was about the Streets, Allies, Manholes, Fire
Hyderants and Ect.
Motion by Dan Strong that we accept the lot Plat as drawn on the
Hill-Side-Village addition. Motion second by Robert Lowman.
Motion passed ayes (4) four / noes (0) none.
Motion by MR. Lowman to pay the bills listed by the Secy.
Motion second by LeRoy Ewen. Motion passed ayes (4) four / noes (0)none.
Discussion about the Easements on the Knight property.
The Council thought it would by wise too prepair for a Condemnation
Suit. On this property.
Motion by LeRoy Ewen that we advise Mr Alex Orr, our Attorney to
write a letter too Mr John Knight and Mrs Lewis E. Knight
about the Easements, and to also procede with the Condemnation Suit.
Motion sec. by Dan Strong. Motion passed ayes (4) four / noes (0) none.
Mr Hicks and the City Council discusse the size pump to be put in
the New Well # 3. Mr Hicks states the well will handle a 500 gal,
per minute pump.
Motion by Dan Strong to have the Mayor and Mr Hicks go ahead with the
500 gal Pump. Motion sec. by LeRoy Ewen. Motion passed ayes 4 / nones(0).
Discussion about paying for the Curbing on the corner of West 1st.
and West ave. C north (at the Christian Church) .
Motion by Robert Lowman for the City too Pay for said Curbing at the
Christian Church. Second by Dan Strong. Motion passed ayes 4/noes O.
