AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING AT ANY TIME WITHIN
TEN (10) FEET OF THE PAVEMENT ON EITHER SIDE OF
F. M. 2170 NORTH UPON JUPITER ROAD TO STATE
HIGHWAY 5 IN THE CITY OF ALLEN; PROVIDING FOR
NO PARKING SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR
THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; CONTAINING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the public safety and welfare of the residents
of the City of Allen requires that traffic in the City
proceed in an orderly and reasonable manner; and
WHEREAS, parking along certain streets in the City of
Allen often congests traffic and constitutes a hazard to
both property and life; and
WHEREAS, Article 27a(1) of the Revised Civil Statutes
of Texas authorizes a City to regulate the parking of motor
vehicles on streets within its corporate limits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That from and after the effective date of
this ordinance, that zone within ten (10) feet of the pavement
on either side of F. M. 2170 North on Jupiter Road to State
Highway 5 in the City of Allen, Texas, is designated as a
no parking zone for all motor vehicles at any time.
SECTION 2: That the City of Allen, through its authorized
agent, shall cause to be erected in such zones herein specified
no parking signs.
SECTION 3: That from and after the effective date of
this ordinance, any person who parks or permits to be parked
their motor vehicle in the zone herein described, shall be
guilty of a.misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be
fined any sum not exceeding two hundred dollars ($200.00).

effective immediately upon its passage and publication.
