CITY COUNCIL-CITYOF ALLEN-ALLEN, TEXAS
August 15th 1968
Present : Mayor Frank Bugger Aldermen Dan Strong, Claud D. Whitaker,
Roy Ewen and Mack Holloway. Absent Robert Lowman.
Visitors : Mr 's Lee Rountree, T.H. Ereckson, Walter Curtis, John Enlo
Bill Enloe, Bob Patterson, Clark W. Fishel and SCOUT MASTER T.A.
Walker and part of his TROOP.
Mr. John Enloe talked to the Council about running a water-line
to the Humble Station on Lebanon Road and Expressway service road.
Mr Enloe and Mr. Patterson discussed some of the unplesant
things that are happening on east Avenue C north near where It
Patterson lives, The Council offers their corporation in trying to
clear up the matter. (call Mrs Florence tomarrow) .
Mr. T.H. Ereckson and Mr. Rountree and the City Council discussed
the Tax Plan and the Tax Program the School proposed to follow in
the future. The School B ardwants to cooperate with the City on the
Tax program which mightrbeneficial to both parties. The City Council
is to meet with the School Board Monday August 19 1968, The School
proposes to hire Mr. Walter Curtis full time as of September 1st.
to work in the Tax department. Mr. Curtis states that he would like
to also handle the CityTax if a deal can be worked out, satisfactory,
to both City and School. Mr Curtis asked for $200.00 per month from
the City, the Council is to give him an answer later,
The BOY SCOUTs asked the corporation of the City Council on some
community service projects. Projects mentioned was A FLAG POLE for
the CITY HALL - Trash barrels,' for keeping our Town clean - Clean up
the Streets - and more to come later. The Council offers their full
corporation.
Motion by Roy Ewen to pay bills . Motion second by C.D. Whitaker
Motion passed ayes 4-noes none
The Council asked for bids from local contractors on Plastic
1 inch water line to be run to the Dog Pound also for bids on rock
to build road into Dog Pound .
Chief Burton and the City Secretary is to order some Street Signs
Motion by Dan Strong to write Lloyd Dement to fix up his propetpl
as agreed, or the City Council will discontinue Water and
Sewer service too his property.
Bids recieved on water-line and Rocking road as follows
By John Enloe
35¢ per foot for water line, including digging, laying and
furnish pipe.
$1.40 per yard for walked rock to build road .
By Jerry Carpenter
$0.40 per foot for digging and layiny water-line
+ the price of Pipe
$1.50 per yard for rock to build road.
Said contract was awarded to Mr. Enloe by Mayor Frank Dugger.
