City Council-City of Allen-Allen, Texas
Mayor Dugger and Five (5) Councilmen present.
Purpose of this meeting to open bids on contracts as follows
Contract,# 885 Construct water pumping station and Foundation for
a steel ground storage tank,
Contract # 886 - Construct Steel ground storage tank
Contract 897 - Furnish water pumps
Bids on following page.
Motion by Dan Strong for Mayor Dugger and City Sec'y. to sign
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Allen is in progress with a project under Public
Law 660 as ammended and refured to as WPC-TEX-459,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Allen that Frank Dugger be and is hereby authorized to sign all
documents relative to said project.
This motion second by Roy Ewen. Motion passed ayes 5 / noes 0.
Motion by Robert Lowman to let Dr. A.E. Veita build a Swimming
Pool. Motion sec. by C.D. Whitaker. Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion by Robert Lownan too charge $15.00 for a swimming pool
permit, sec. by C.D. Whitaker. Votes ayes 5 noes 0.
Motion by Robert Lowman that the City Secretary issue NO-MORE
PERMITS to the JAN MAR developers in the HILLSIDE VILLAGE ADDITION
until Mr. Parson and or some representative from JAN MAR has meet
with the Allen City Council for a discussion.
Motion sec. by Dan Strong, passed ayes 5 - noes 0.
Motion by Roy Ewen and second by Claude Whitaker effective
October 1st 1968 to give A.C. Story a $25.00 per month raise.
Also to give E.F. Ereckson a $15.00 per month raise. Motion
second by C.D. Whitaker. Motion passed ayes 5 noes 0.
Leo Dement and Ken Posey was here to talk with. the City Council
about some way to create some interest in attendance for the FILE
DEPARTMENT, after a discussion on several ideas a Motion was made
by Robert Lowman to give the Firemen $1.75 per month on a three (3)
months trial bases, providing their are 17 members in attandance,
At the end of 90 days if this deal works the City will match the
$ 1.75 up-to 25 members to be paid to the Fire Department.
Motion second by Roy Ewen. Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0, one obstained
which was Dan Strong - (Dan belongs to the Fire Department)
