Present : Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: Dan Strong, LeRoy Ewen, Robert E. Lowman,
C.D. Whitaker and Mack Holloway.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved,
Melvin Gant appeared and spoke in behalf of the re-
zoning on the Methodist Church property. There was no opposition
to the rezoning. After some discussion the Planning and Zoning
Commission made a reccommendation to the City Council that the
Methodist Church Property be rezoned from "A" Classifaction to
"B" Classifaction. Motion by Roy Ewen Second Bob Lowman that the
recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission be accepted.
Motion carried 5 For 0 Against.
A letter was presented to the Council from City Engineer
Walter Hicks showing the changes that were to be made on the plans
of the proposed Mobile Home Park on Highway 5.
Motion Dan Strong Second C.D. Whitaker that City accept
the bid by Pierce Pump Co. of $639.60 on pumps to be installed at
old well. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Roy Ewen Second Bob Lowman that new bids be sub-
mitted for fence at car pound, using the same specifications
but cutting the fence size down to 100'x100' . Motion carried 5
For 0 Against.
Motion Dan Strong Second Roy Ewen that bills presented
be paid. Motion carried 5 For 0 Against.
George Anderson appeared and asked Council if something
could be done to fix street that runs in front of his property.
Council agreed to look into making some repairs to this street
as soon as the weather permits.
Mr & Mrs Charles Pifer appeared in behalf of getting
a permit on the enlargement of the Mobile Home Park that they
now own, and are trying to sell to Mr. Jack Sosobee. After a
lengthy dissuasion the Council asked Mr Pifer to contact Mr
Sosobee and ask him to meet with Council at their next regular
meeting. Council would like to see a detailed plat and Spec-
ifactions that are to be made in the enlargement of this Park.
J.B. Whisenant appeared and asked about the constructing
of an addition to his present oar wash on Lebanon Road. Council
asked Mr. Whisenant to present his plans and Specifactions on
this addition and they would issue him a permit.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that an ordinance
be drawn annexing the following Road Right of Ways into the City
Limits U.S. 75 from Lebanon Road to Stacy Road, F.M. 2170 East
from High School to just beyond the intersection of F.M. 2551;
F.M. 2170 West from intersection of 'INS. 75 to its intersection
with F.M. 211.78; State 5 North from the present City Limits to
the intersection of Stacy Road, Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion C. D. Whitaker that City draw an ordinance on
automobiles or any vehicle passing or approaching a School
Bus stoped to discharge or pick up passengers in the City
Limits. Second Dan Strong, Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion C. D. Whitaker Second Dan Strong that City accept
Art Halliburton's letter of resignation. Motion Carried 5 For
0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Mack Holloway that Council accept
the Rules And Regulations as presented by the City Planning
and Zoning Commission. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against,
Motion made and seconded that meeting be adjourned.
