Present : Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: Robert E. Lowman, Mack Holloway, LeRoy Ewen,
Dan Strong and Claude Whitaker.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved,
Mayor Frank Duuger administered the Oath of Office
to Councilmen Mack Holloway, LeRoy Ewen and Robert E. Lowman.
W.E. Ford appeared and asked information as to the
availibility of water and utilities to a tract of land owned
by Mrs S.G. Carpenter and Dr. L.D. Dutton, and also as to the
possibility of building a Mobile Home Park on this land. Coun-
cil agreed that this property would have to be annexed by the
City before any water could be furnished. Mr. Ford was also
advised that the City would need more information and discussion
on this matter before reaching any agreement.
Motion Claude Whitaker Second LeRoy Ewen that bills
presented by Secretary be paid. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Mr Jack Parsons appeared and asked City about an
Ordinance that would require persons tying on to the Sewer
Line being constructed by him, to pay a Pro-rata cost of line
before being permitted to tie on to line. Mr Parsons was told
that Council would work out some arrangement to comply with
this request. Council also agreed to permit Mr. Parsons to
pave alleys in the Hillside Addition with concrete in place of
asphalt.
Lanny Ereckson appeared and asked the Council for
a permit to move a Mobile Home on the lot now owned by his
father. Council agreed to let Mr. Ereckson move his Mobile
Home in provided he abided by the City's requirements.
Motion Dan Strong Second Claude Whitaker that Ord-
inance be drawn not to permit anyone not living in the City
Limits to connect on to sewer. The only exception being those
property owners along the Sewer Line to Plano that the City
is legally under contract to permit them to connect to Sewer.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against,
Council asks that City Attorney draw an amendment
to Ordinance No. 42 and incorporate the specifactions on the
Mobile Home Park on Highway 5 into the Ordinance.
Mrs Ruth Pringle appeared and presented a report on
the Library. Council appointed Ed Lynge, Melba Rountree and
Mrs A.E. Vita to serve on the Library Board.
Leland McJunkin appeared and asked about the poss-
ibility of the City putting up more lights on the Little
League base ball field. Motion Bob Lowman Second Claude
Whitaker that City pay $600.00 for lighting for Little League
ball field. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Dan Strong Second Roy Ewen that City give
Fred Carrol a credit memo on his water bill from the date
that the dog pound was connected on the water line till the
present date, then the regular rate of 1 1/2 times the rate be
charged on all future bills. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Claude Whitaker Second Roy Ewen that City
Tax rate for 1969 be set at 1.25. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Council agreed that all future sub-divisions coming
into the City Limits be required to have curb and guttered streets.
Motion Made and seconded that Council adjourn.
