Present : Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: Dan Strong, LeRoy Ewen, Mack Holloway.
Absent C .D. Whitaker and Bob Lowman.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved ,
Mr. Loring Himelright and Jerry Shipp appeared before
Council and spoke about the flood conditions in the Hillside
Village Addittion following the recent rain. Council expressed.
their appreciation to Mr. Himelright and Mr. Shipp for appear-
ing before Council and pledged them the support of the Council
in helping to remedy this situation.
City engineer, Walter Hicks appeared and read a letter
to the Council dated July 8, 1969 from Austin Paving Co, want-
ing the streets approved in the Hillside Village Addition #1
Mr. Hicks also read a copy of his answer to the above letter,
dated July 18, 1969 to the Austin Paving Co. In this letter he
he stated that after his inspection of the streets in Hillside
Village Additions that he would not approve the streets in their
present condition.
Motion Dan Strong Second Mack Holloway that no more permits
be issued to Jan Mar Development Co, until the City Engineer
gives final approval on the streets and also the work is completed
on stopping the flooding condition in the said Hillside Village
Addition #1. Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against .
Council instructed Mr. Hicks to get bids on boring under
Highway 5 for the sewer crossing; also Mr Hicks is to get permit
from Highway Department for such work.
Eloe Zinke, Chairman of the Planning Commission, appeared
before Council and gave a report on Their meeting of October 15.
After hearing report Council informed Mr. Zinke that they would
work with Commission and also the property owner on this project
that was reported on.
A letter was read from Mr & Mrs Gerald Wright to the
Council asking permission to place a Mobil Home on the back of
Mrs Thelma Summers lot. Motion Dan Strong Second Mack Holloway
that a permit be issued if the following provisions are met,
1. Owner must occupy trailer for a dwelling only.
2. Trailer must be connected to the City's Sewer and water lines .
3 . Owner must pay inspection fee plus City License.
Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against .
Motion Leroy Ewen Second Dan Strong that City employ another
fulltime policeman at a salary of $500.00 per month. Motion carried
3 for 0 against.
Motion Leroy Ewen Second Dan Strong that bills for the month
be approved. Motion carried 3 for 0 against.
Motion made and seconded that Council adjourn.
