Present : Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: LeRoy Ewen, Bob Lowman, C.D. Whitaker,
Mack Holloway & Clifford Hart
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that minutes of
previous meeeting be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second LeRoy Ewen that results of City
Officers Election held on April 4, 1970 be Certified and app-
roved . Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
City Secretary A.C. Story administered the Oath of Office
to Mayor Frank Dugger and Councilmen C.D. Whitaker and Clifford
Hart.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Mack Holloway that bills presented
be approved . Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
A written petition was presented to Council to annex pro-
perty owned by Mac Fitzgerald into the Corporate Limits of the
City. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second LeRoy Ewen that petition be
approved subject to the installing an 8" water line in place
of the 6" line proposed in the petition. Motion Carried 5 For
0 Against.
A petition was read to Council by Mayor Dugger from the
Allen Swim Club asking that the alley be opened between Mrs
Jim Rankin's property and the Ford-Dement property so as to
have an access to the Allen Swim Club property directly South
of said alley. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Mack Holloway that
City take such action as necessary to open alley. Motion Carried
5 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Leroy Ewen that Mr Richardson be
hired on a pro-rata basis from this date till the next meeting
which is May 7 at a Salary of $150.00 per month; this action
was taken because Council wanted to talk with Mr Richardson
on becoming a full time Building Inspector. Motion Carried 5
For 0 Against .
Council agreed to pay Terry Adney $1.50 per hour for mow-
ing for City.
Council agreed to purchase 3 Fire Plugs per month till
adequate Fire Plugs are had in the City.
Ruth Pringle, representative of the Library Board, appeared
before Council and presented 3 names for Council's consideration
as appointees to the Library Board, to fill the places vacated
by Mrs Pringle and Mrs Perry Moseley whose terms expired. Names
submitted were: Mrs Ernest Shelgren, Mrs Don Kissinger and Bob
Taylor. Mrs Pringle also reccomended to Council that Mrs Ray
Henderson be hired as Librian to replace Mrs Bob Painter who has
resigned. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second LeRoy Ewen that Mrs Ernest
Shelgren and Mrs Don Kissinger be appointed to Library Board and
a
Mrs Ray Henderson be hired to replace Mrs Painter as Libriarian.
Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against. Councilman Hart had left the meet-
ing at this time.
Motion Mack Holloway Second LeRoy Ewen that C.D. Whitaker
be elected as Mayor Pro-Tem, Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Chief Jerry Burton appeared before Council and asked per-
mission to purchase a Fire Extingusher to be placed in Police
Car and also for a cost of living raise for Officer Ray Henderson.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that Chief Burton be
authorized to purchase Fire Extingusher and that Officer Henderson
be granted a $45.00 per month pay increase effective Mayll, 1970.
Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that meeting adjourn.
Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
