Present: Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Mack Holloway, Clifford Hart &
Roy Ewen,
Motion Bob Lowman Second Roy Ewen that minutes of previous meeting be
approved as read by City Secretary, Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Rev. Ramon Womack appeared before Council and asked information as to
what action should be taken by the City in regard to a City wide Diptheria
immunization project. He asked Council if they thought an imminization project
would be benefical to the City and if so would the City want to sponsor such a
program. Council agreed that this was a good thought and needed to be further
explored. Council asked Rev. Womack to see if he could obtain further information on
this subject and report back to Council. Rev. Womack agreed to do this and bring
back to Council his findings.
Council discussed the Base Radio Station built for the Police Department
by Mr Eugene Tobaben, Councilman Ewen also stated that the Lions Club had a part
in the building of this unit since they had already spent some $ 150.00 on this
project. Motion C.D, Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that the City accept this unit
and build whatever type building necessary to house this equipment; also that the
City should extend a Special Thanks to Mr. Tobaben and the Lions Club for their
effort and generosity toward this project. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Jack Parsons and W.A. Eubanks appeared before Council in regard to the
City taking over the operation and maintainence of the Sewer Lift Station and
the Sewer Trunk Line in the Hillside Village Addition. Council had already made
a commitment to take this operation over after the lapse of one years time.
Since the year has already lapsed a Motion by Bob Lowman Seconded by C.D. Whitaker
that the City assume the responsibility of the operation and maintainence of this
Lift Station and Sewer Trunk Line at this time. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Mr. Ray Hartley arpeared before Council and presented a bid on the
street work that he had previously talked to Council about. Council agreed to
study this proposal and try to contact another party on the base work of the
job before coming to any decision on this Bid.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Roy Ewen that bills presented be approved.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against,
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that meeting adjourn,
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
