Present: Mayor Frank Dogger
Councilmen: Roy Ewen, C.D. Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Mack Holloway &
Clifford Hart,
Motion Roy Ewen Second Clifford Hart that minutes of previous meeting
be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
A group from the MYF of the First United Methodist Church appeared
before Council seeking information and permission from Council in the plant-
ing of a living evergreen tree to be used each year as a Community Christmas
Tree, Council agreed to work with this group and help in any way possible with
this project. Council also expressed appreciation to this group for this under-
taking.
Mr. Buck Holland appeared before Council and asked about contract on
garbage pick up in the City. Council informed Mr. Holland that if any change
was made from the present arrangement that the contract would be let on a bid
basis and advertisements for bids would be published in the local Newspapers.
Mr. Mike Mahoney, the planning Consultant on the Master Plan, appeared
before Council to give a report on the progress of the work completed on the
plan at this date. Mr. Mahoney reported the Work on the Plan to be approximately
95% complete and full completion would be by December 15th of this year. The
Planning and Zoning Commissiog was also present for this meeting,
Mr. Claiborne Johnson, representing O.B. English was introduced to
Council and made brief remarks as to what they expected to do in Allen in the
future.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Mack Holloway that the final payment
be made on the Master Plan Contract. Motion Carried 4 For 1 Against. Bob
Lowman voted against.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that bills presented be
approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Mack Holloway Second Roy Ewen that the meeting be adjourned.
