Present: Mayor Frank Dogger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, LeRoy Ewen, Clifford Hart, Mack Holloway
Bob Lowman.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that minutes of previous meeting
be approved as read by City Secretary. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Council tabled the bids on the fence for the der pound urtill the next
Regular Meeting on March 18th because only one bid had been submitted at this
time.
A petition was presented to Council by Mr Dell Morton asking that a Tract
of land Containing 277.2 acres in the D. Wetsel, L. Wetsel & P. Wetsel Surveys
owned by him be annexed to the Corporate Limits of the City of Allen. Motion
Bob Lowman Second Mack Holloway that Mr Morton's petition be accepted and the
land annexed to the City, the City Attorney to draw an Ordinance to this effect.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Reverend Ramon Womack, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, appeared
before Council and presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Allen Police
Department from his Church, for the departments work in the investigation and
the final recovery of the property that was stolen from the Church in a recent
buglary. Chief of Police Jerry Burton and Officer Ray Henderson accepted the
Certificate for the Police Department and Chief Burton expressed the Departments
appreciation and thanks for the presentation. Reverend Womack also spoke on
some of the pmepesedsratitlens to the Texas Penal Code from an article prepared
by District Attorney Henry Wade of Dallas County. Council expressed their thanks
to the Methodist Church and to Reverend Womaek for the presentation and for the
remarks presented by him.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that Ordinance 102 be approved
as drafted by the City Attorney. This Ordinance covers excessive noise with a
motor vehicle. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion LeRoy Ewen Second Mack Holloway that bills presented be approved.
Mobion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that a $50.00 deposit be required
if a copy of the Master Plan Summary is removed from the Municipal Building.
The deposit to be refunded if copy, is returned in good order. Motion Carried
5 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that meeting adjourn untill the
next Regular Meeting on March 18th. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
