Resolution of the
City of Allen
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE AD VALORUM TAX ASSESSMENT
RATIO AT 100°% OF APPRAISED VALUE FROM ITS PRESENT RATIO
OF 50o FOR THE TAX YEAR 1980.
WHEREAS, under state law and city charter, the City of
Allen is designated a general purpose local
government with ad valorum taxing powers; and
WHEREAS, presently the City of Allen sets the tax levy
based on 50 percent of the appraised value of
property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to eliminate confusion
on the part of the taxpayer and to prepare the
tax office for compliance with 100 percent
assessment in 1981 as required by S.B. 621;
Now therefore be it resolved:
A. Except as otherwise provided by law, it shall
be the policy of the City of Allen to assess
property for taxation on the basis of 100
percent of its appraised value.
B. This policy shall take effect on January 1,
1980.

` BE IT REMEMBERED that the City Council of the City
of Allen, Collin County, Texas, met in open, public, regular
session at the regular meeting place of the Council in Rountree
Elementary School in said city, at 7a30 o'clock p. M.,
on December 20, 1979.
Present and presiding M. B. Pierson, Mayor; also
present, Jon McCarty, City Manager, Junelle Cooksey, City
Secretary, and the following councilmen:
Joe Farmer, Charles Chandler, H. R. Daugherty,
Rex Womack, Glenn Andrew and Richard Chumbley

The following resolution was thereupon introduced by
Mayor M. B. Pierson and read in full:
RESOLUTION approving the Bylaws of `
the Allen Industrial Development
Corporation. 286
WHEREAS on November 26, 1979, this body did approve
the creation of the Allen Industrial Development Corporation
(the "Corporation"); and
WHEREAS the Corporation has been issued a certificate
of incorporation by the Secretary of State, and its Board of
Directors has met in an organizational meeting on December 20, ,
1979, and adopted Bylaws; and
WHEREAS pursuant to the Texas Development Corporation
Act of 1979 this.body must approve said Bylaws;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Council
of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, acting as the
Aftgoverning body of said city, as follows:

Section 1. The Bylaws of the Corporation, in the form
hereto attached as Exhibit A , are hereby approved.
Section 2. The effectiveness of said Bylaws upon their
adoption by the Board of Directors of the Corporation, as provided
therein, is hereby ratified and approved.

seconded by H. R. Daugherty that said resolution be adopted.
