Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that minutes of previous meeting
be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Joe Dillard, Chairman of the Library Board, appeared before Council and
presented a report from the Library Board on the hiring of a Librarian. Mr
Dillard stated that the Board had studied several applications for the job
and that they belieded Mr. Bobby Lanier to be the best qualified of the app-
licants interviewed; in view of this study the Library Board reccomended that
Council hire Mr. Lanier. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that the rec-
comendation of the Library Board be approved and that Mr. Lanier be hired as
the new Librarian. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Johnny Pannell Second Johnnie Blankenship that the salary of the
Librarian be set at $2.00 per hour based on a 20 hour week.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Maggie Spencer appeared before Council seeking permission to move a Mobile
Home onto property owned by Nancy Robinson at 302 East Coats Drive. Council
granted approval on this request with the following provisions to be met:
(1). the owner of the Mobile Home must occupy such, (2). Mobil Home must be
connected to the City water and sewer system and must be on a separate water
meter of its own.
Charles Tripplett appeared before Council and asked if any decision had
been made as to the Contract on the garbage pick-up for the City. Council in-
formed Mr. Tripplett that no decision had been made at this time and that Mr.
John Looney from Southern Sanitation Company would be invited to the next Coun-
cil meeting on June 17th to see if he was prepared to offer the City a contract
for his company on this service. If not then bids would be taken for the Gar-
bage pick-up service.
E.F. Ereckson appeared before Council to ask that he be relieved from his
duties as Water and Sewer Supertendent, since he had decieded to retire. Mr.
Ereckson stated that he would like for his resigination to become effective
July let but that he would stay on and help train whoever was employed for the
job. Council agreed to accept Mr Ereckson's resigination and to advertise in
the Allen Amerlcian, Daily Courier Gazzgtte & the Plano Star Courier for a re-
placement for this position. The requirements to be met for this job included
the employee must live in the City of Allen, must have or be able to obtain a
certified Waterworks operators license and be able to accept the position by
July let, Salary open for consideration.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that the City advertise for bids
on supplying the City gasoline bids to be opened on July 1st-, at 7:30 P.M.
Bids to be for Ethyl Gasoline with underground tank and electric pump furnished
by dealer. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second Johnny Pannell that bills presented be
approved Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.

next Regular Meeting June 17th. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
