A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, DESIGNATING THE POSITION OF CITY
SECRETARY, AND THE PERSON OCCUPYING THAT POSITION, AS
THE RECORDS MANAGEMENT OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF ALLEN IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 203.025 OF
THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE.
WHEREAS, during the 71st Texas State Legislative Session a comprehensive
records management law was passed, which is Chapter 201 of the Local Government
Code; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen is desirous of carrying out
the policies and procedures for efficient and economical management of records and
in carrying out the requirements of the records management law;
WHEREAS, the new law requires each local government to designate a
Records Management Officer on or before June 1, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the person designated as the Records Management Officer shall
carry out the duties described in Section 203.023 of the Local Government Code;
and,
WHEREAS, the position of City Secretary in the City of Allen is the
appropriate position to be designated as the Records Management Officer as that
position is the custodian of the official records of the city,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALLEN THAT:
Section I. The position of City Secretary for the City of Allen shall be
designated as the Records Management Officer for the city.
Section II. A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Executive
and Administrative Officer of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in
accordance with the provisions paragraph (c) of Section 203.025 of the Local
Government Code.

OF ALLEN, TEXAS, ON THE 17TH DAY OF MAY, 1990.
