Present: Mayor Frank Dogger
Councilmen: Bob Lowman, Clifford Hart, Johnnie Blankenship & Johnny
Pannell.
Absent: C.D. Whitaker.
Motion Johnny Pannell Second Bob Lowman that minutes of previous meeting
be approved as read. Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Flags were presented the City by the Lions Club to be placed in the
Council Chambers appropiate stands were also presented to hold these Flags.
These Flags were flown over our National and State Capitols. The United States
Flag was presented by Congressman Ray Roberts and the State Flag by Representative
Bob Hendricks.
Letter was read from the Planning & Zoning Commission reccomending
approval by Council of the Proposed Zoning Ordinance as part of the Master Plan.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that Ordinance No. 129 be approved adopting
this Ordinance, also that a vote of thanks be extended to the Planning & Zoning
Commission for their hard work and time spent on this project. Motion Carried 4
For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that Fire Places be constructed
so as to extend at least 12 inches above the highest point on the ridge of the
roof; also 3 way light switches be required in all halls of more than 10 feet
in length. Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Second Johnnie Blankenship that Ordinance No. 131, annex-
ing 242.197 acres in the Peter Fisher Surve$' into the Corpotate Limits of the
City. Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Joe Dillard, Chairman of the Library Board, appeared before Council
and reported that Bob Lanier had submitted his resignation as Librarian effect-
ive in August. Mrs Mary Tod was reccomended by the Library Board as a replacement
when Mr. lander Leaves. Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second Clifford Hart that
reccomendation hiring Mrs. Tod as Librarian be approved. Motion Carried 4 For 0
Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that Gilliland Insurance
Agency be authorized to write Workmen's Compensation Policy for City for the
year 1972-73• Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that bills presented be approved.
Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that meeting adjourn. Motion
Carried 4 For 0 Against.
