A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION
HELD IN RESPONSE TO A PETITION FROM THE FIREFIGHTERS'
ASSOCIATION REQUESTING A VOTE OF THE CITIZENS RELATIVE TO
THE ADOPTION OR REJECTION OF THE FIREFIGHTERS' CIVIL SERVICE
LAW HELD ON AUGUST 13, 1994.
WHEREAS, it is imperative to consider the returns of a special election held on the 13th day of
August, 1994, in response to a petition from the Firefighters' Association request for a vote of the
citizens relative to the adoption or rejection of the firefighters' Civil Service Law, and it appearing
from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 2,543 valid and legal
votes; that the proposition in said election received the following votes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALLEN, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and
that said election was held in accordance with law; and, the canvass shows the citizens of the City
of Allen have determined that the fire fighters' civil service law is rejected in the City of Allen.
It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this governing body, the City
Secretary posted written notice of the date, place and subject of this meeting on the bulletin board
located at City Hall, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public, and said notice
has been so posted and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the schedule
time of said meeting.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN ON
THIS THE 18TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1994.
