Present: Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell, Johnnie
Blankenship and Bob Lowman.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that minutes of previous meet-
ing be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Bob Overbey appeared before Council seeking approval to move a used
garage building onT?Iis property located at 921 Wandering Way Drive. Council
granted Mr. Overbey approval to move this building to this location.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that bills presented be approved.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Dale Williams, representating the Little League, appeared before Council
in regards to building a new back stop, and increasing the lighting on the
fields now in operation. Mr. Williams stated that material for the back stop
would be approximately $234.00 and he and Jim Pennington would be responsible
for erecting the back stop; to improve the lighting Mr. Williams asked that
2 rows of lights be added to the infield lights on Field #1 at a cost of $700.00
additional lights in the outfield on Field #1 at a cost of $300.00 and 2 rows
of additional lights be added to the infield on Field k2 at a cost of $600.00.
Addition of these lights will make these fields safer and will reduce..the possibility
of injury to the participants in the Little League Base Ball program. Motion
Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that $2000.00 be allocated to the Little League
for this project. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Reccomendation was heard from Building Inspector 4ertries Richardson and
Fire Chief Ronald Gentry concerning the condition of the building located at
109 West Main Street. Their reccomendation was that if the building was not
renovated so as to meet the City's codes and ordinances, it should be condemned
and removed from the premises. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that
Chief Gentry and Mr. Richardson's reccomendation be followed on this matter.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second Bob Lowman that information be secured
by City Secretary on the installation of a floor safe in the City Offices.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that Ordinance be drawn reducing
the speed limit on East McDermott Drive from South Ash Drive to South Cedar
Drive from 30 Miles per hour to 15 miles per hour; also that traffic bumpers
be placed on McDermott and crosswalks be provided from the Elementary School
to the playground on the South Side of McDermott Drive. Motion Carried 5 For
0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that meeting adjourn. Motion Carried
5 For 0 Against.
