REGULAR MEETING
September 19, 1974

Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell,
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that minutes of previous
meeting be approved as read. Motion carried 4 for 0 against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that Dr. A.E. Vita be ap-
pointed City Health Officer for another term. Motion carried 4 for
0 against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that request for change of
plat for Fountain Park #3 be referred to Planning and Zoning Com-
mission. Motion carried 4 for 0 against.
Residents of Keith Dr. appeared to discuss projected sewage line on
their street. Low bid was received from Dub Eubanks. Residents dis-
cussed this bid and also asked that the City Council take a position
of leadership in this matter. Council agreed that a majority or 51%
vote would be necessary to approve project. Residents presented a
petition with 9 signatures out of a possible 17. At this point C.D.
Whitaker made motion Second Johnny Pannell that City Attorney would
start action on ordinance and would also check legalities involving
pay -back. Motion carried 4 for 0 against.
Bill Stratton appeared about request to change zoning of property he
leases from the Railroad. C.D. Whitaker Motion, Second Clifford Hart
that request for zoning change be approved. Whitaker and Hart voted
for motion and Lowman and Pannell voted against. Mayor Dugger broke
the tie by voting for the zoning change and set October 3, 1974, as
the date for a public hearing on this ordinance.
Mr. Lutbey, a representative CMI, appeared about the City purchasing
a new radar gun for the Police Dept. Council discussed previous poor
service from this company on radar gun bought in 1972. Representative
said he would check with Home Office and be back in touch with us on
this.
Police Chief Burton showed Council a letter he received about traffic
light at Hwy 5 and 2170. Council agreed that City Secretary should
forward a letter to Mr. John Keller of Hwy. Dept. requesting 24 hour
service on this light.
Mayor Dugger discussed delinquent water bills for the month of Sept.
Council agreed that City Secretary should be firm in the handling of
this matter.
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that meeting adjourn. Motion
carried 4 for 0 against.
