City Council, City of Allen
Present: Mayor Frank Dagger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Mickey Pierson, Clifford Hart
and H.C. Brooks, Jr.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that minutes of last meeting be approved as
read. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Mayor Dagger discussed the fact that legal proceedings have been instituted
against those houses in town that have been burnt or represent a health hazard.
Mayor Dagger discussed the fact that money has been allocated for the bridge
on 2170.
Mayor Dagger thanked all those who helped with the Barry Enloe fund raising
ice cream benefit.
Mayor Dagger advised that he had been in contact with different people in reference
to having Allen approved as a Bi -Centennial City.
Dale Williamson of Lone Star Gas appeared about rate increase for his Company.
After much discussion, Motion was made by C.D. Whitaker and Seconded by Mickey
Pierson to grant Lone Star Gas a 10¢ increase instead of a 20¢ increase.
C.D. Whitaker, Mickey Pierson and Clifford Hart voted for the increase. Bob
Lowman and H.C. Brooks, Jr. voted against. Motion carried 3 for 2 against.
Don Lewis appeared on behalf of some of the members of the Allen Swim Club
in reference to the City purchasing the swim club for a City Pool. After much
discussion it was brought out that this was not a representative body, due to
the fact that it would take a 2/3 majority of the owners or members of the Swim Club
for the sale to be approved and at this time there had not been a meeting of the
members. Council advised Mr. Lewis that before this should be discussed further,
there would have to be a meeting of the members and a 2/3 majority would have to vote
for the sale.
Motion Mickey Pierson Second Clifford Hart to approve the plat of High Point Estates.
Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman to approve the Tax Roll for 1975 at $1.25
per $100.00. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Jack Decatur and Ed Lynge of the Chamber of Commerce appeared in reference to th
Bi -Centennial program also. Their was discussion on what the City had to do on.
this matter. These men also asked for assistance from the City in reference to.
the decorating of the City at Christmas time. Motion Mickey Pierson Second H.C.
Brooks, Jr., to appropriate $ 500.00 to the Chamber of Commerce for the purchase
and upkeep of Christmas decorations. Motion Carried 5 for 0 against.
Police Chief Anthony Hancock requested that the City proceed with payment to
North Texas Council of Governments for the purchase of hi -band radios for his
Department. Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart to pay this expense.
Motion carried 5 for 0 aginst. Resolution # 182.
Fire Chief Ron Gentry demonstrated the new Plectron system in use by the Fire
Dept.. Chief Gentry also requested an increase for the Firemen. Motion Bob Lowman
Second Mickey Pierson to raise fireman to $7.00 and Chief and Asst. to $10.00 per
month. Notion carried 5 for 0 against.

Carl Gilliland because their were some questions to be asked on these.
Motinn carried 5 for o against.
Notion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that meeting adjourn. Motion carried 5 for
0 against.
