REGULAR SESSION
City Council, City of Allen
December 18, 1975
Present: Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, H.C. Brooks, Jr., Mickey Pierson,
Bob Lowman and Clifford Hart.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that minutes of last meeting be
approved as read. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Dale Williamson of Lone Star Gas Co. presented the Council with a stipulation
that he said needs to be signed. This stipulation estimates that
Lone Star Gas's plants are in 85% new condition and 15% not new condition.
Council advised Mr. Williamson that they would refer this matter to
the City Attorney. Under direct questioning Mr. Williamson said " we do
not have adequate mains to get it( gas) here on a morning like this morning,
and unless we get a rate increase we can not afford to spend money if we
can"t get it back." After further discussion Council once again advised
Mr. Williamson that our attorney would contact their attorney.
Fire Chief Ron Gentry appeared and requested that he be allowed to secure
bids on a new fire truck. Council advised Chief Gentry to do same.
Chief Gentry also requested that the Fire Dept. be allowed to purchase
street reflectors to be placed in the street so that drivers of fire trucks
can more easily spot fire plugs at night. Motion Bob Lowman Second
Mickey Pierson that City purchase needed amount of street reflectors.
Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Mickey Pierson Second Bob Lowman to pay bills presented. Motion
carried 5 for 0 against.
Director of Public works Jim Eaton presented bids on building to store
chlorine at new pump house. Builders Hardware bid $955.63 and. Robert
Tuscana Bid $835.00. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that
bid of Robert Tuscan be accepted. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Council discussed the condition of the streets and alley in Hillside Village.
Decided to dismiss this matter further at next meeting.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that meeting adjourn. Motion carried
5 for 0 against.
