REGULAR MEETING

Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chair Carroll at 6:03 p m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in the
Council Conference Room of Allen City Hall at 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Action Items
1. Approve minutes from the February 16, 2016, Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member W ittsche, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the February 16, 2016 regular meeting as presented.
2. Recommend City Council Adopt the Allen Public Art Master Plan Update
This item was tabled until City Council is able to provide feedback on the update via City
Council Workshop discussion on April 26, 2016. Staff will also request an Executive Summary
be provided by the consultant to further assist with the review

3. Review Allen Public Art Print Piece
Staff shared a more refined mock-up of the piece that will be ready for distribution at the
upcoming reception Overall feedback was great. The order of the pieces was discussed as well
as adding the Arts Alliance website to the logo.

4. Discuss Details of Allen Public Art 10 -Year Celebration Reception
A reception to celebrate 10 years of Allen Public Art will be held in conjunction with the Allen
Arts Alliance on April 14, 2016 from 6 p.m. — 8 p.m. at the Blue House Too gallery in Watters
Creek. As the Chair of the Public An Committee, Ann Carroll, was asked to say a few brief
words at the event.
5. Ongoing Project Updates
May and Watkins continue to be in contact with the design consultant and are further refining
concepts for artwork at Walters Branch Park. A Skype call is scheduled for the April 19, 2016
meeting to review further developed bench concepts.
Staff is still working to finalize contract and insurance details with Ford Pool Mosaic artist,
Joshua Winer and then will take the contract to City Council for approval, likely in May.
Staff reports that the Governors Award project is still awaiting the completion of the construction
on US Highway 75 and will likely not see much activity until that occurs
