Tollett and H.C. Brooks, Jr..
Motion Pierson Second Lowman that minutes of last meeting be approved as read,
except as noted, . Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Letter was presented from Attorney representing City in hearing against Lone Star Gas
before Railroad Commission. Motion Pierson Second Brooks that City Attorney be contactedd
on this matter. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Tollett Second Brooks that recommendation of Water Study Committee be approved
with a review set for May 1, 1977. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Potion Pierson Second Lowman that new water rates become effective September 1, 1976
billing. Motion carrie 5 for 0 against.
Recommendation was read from Planning and Zoning Commission on zoning request of Hal
Mayfield and Oliver Daniel property. Commission recommended that request be denied.
Preliminary plat on Cottonwood Park addition was recommended by Commission.
Hal Mayfield appeared before Council askinf that Council overided Planning and Zoning Co-
mmission rbcommendation and allow zoning as requested. Mr. Mayfield stated that he felt t
economy at this time dictated this type of zoning for development. Motion Pierson
Second Tollett that recommendation of Planning and Zoning Commission be upheld and
' Mr. Mayfield's request be denied. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Letter was presented to Council from Fire Chief Ron Gentry on sending 4 men to the
Fire training school at Texas A & M. Motion Pierson Second Chandler that expenses
for 4 men be approved. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Lowman Second Pierson that preliminary plat on Cottonwood apartments addition
be approved. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Wendell Housley appeared before Council as Civil Defense Coordinator stating that
requirements needed to be made to put this plan in effect. Council advised Mr.
Houlsey to proceed on this matter.
Jimmy Eaton presented bids on tar kettles. 1. Berry Brothers $ 1614.60-1925.00
2. Hi Way Machinery Co. $ 1-150.00
3. Moody -Day Co. $ 1738.00-2088.00
Motion Chandler Second Lowman to accept bid from Hi Way Machinery Co. Motion
carried 5 for 0 against.
Council advised Jimmy Eaton to secure bids on a back -hoe. Bids to be opened next
council meeting.
Motion Pierson Second B000ks that bills presented be approved for payment with
exception of C & M bill. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Lowman Second Pierson that meeting adjourn into executive session. Motion
carried 5 for 0 against.
