Present: Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilpersons: Eileen Tolett, H.C. Brooks, Jr., Mickey Pierson,
1Charles Chandler and Bob Lowman.
Motion Pierson Second Tolett that minutes of last meeting be approved as read.
Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Public Hearing was held on the Request for special exception -self -serve gas
pumps on 2170. Howard Snider spoke for the request. No one opposed. Motion
Pierson Second Chandler to approve special request of Roger Chaney. Motion
carried 5 for 0 against.
Public Hearing was held on zoning request change of Oliver Daniel foo 97 acres
from R2 to R4 and 3 acres from R2 to IR in the R.L Ingram Survey. No one
spoke for or against. Motion Lowman Second Tolett to approve request. Motion
carried 5 for 0 against.
Public Hearing was held on request by Raldon Corp. to change to 64 acre, to R5,
6 sera. to R16, 8 acres to IR, and 20 acre. to TH. No on a opposed. Motion
Pierson Second Chandler to approve request. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Hal Mayfield appeared to appeal decision of Planning and Zoning Commission.
P & Z denied request to change 48 acrs. from R2 to R5. After much discussion,
Council advised that they would be receptive to a R5 -R4 buffer. Motion
Pierson Second Tolett to uphold decision of P&Z. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Lowman Second Pierson to adopt ordinance # 199 annexing 15 acres of
R.J. Potter property located Hwy. 2170 and Allen Heights Dr. Motion carried
5 for O ago net.
Police Chief Hancock advised that 20 mph signs had been moved back east and
that he had been in contact with Mr. Marion about a crosswalk. Mr. Marion
siad that it looked as if the children were riding the busses enough now to
alleviate the problem.
Fire Chief Ron Gentry asked that the City pay for EMP School for all firemen.
Motion Pierson Second Tolett to approve this request. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Council advised Chief Hancock to get bids on new squad car.
Jean Carr appeared and requested to build hn extension on her place of business.
Motion Lowman Second Pierson to give Mrs. Carr a temporary permit. Motion carriied
5 for 0 against.
Motion Lowman Second Chandler to pay bills presented. Motion carried 5 for
0 against.
Motion Lowman Second Chandler to adjourn into executive session. Motion
carried 5 for 0 against.
