Present: Mayor Frank Bugger
Councilpersons: B.C. Brooks, Jr., Eileen Tollett, Charles
Chandler, Bob Lowman and Mickey Pierson
Motion Lowman Second Tollett to adopt minutes as read.
Jack Crampton and Harry Bomar of TP &L appeared in reference to their
request for a rate increase, which was an average of 34%. Numerous
questions were asked by the Council as to the ,Justification of this
exhorbant amount. A motion was made by Pierson to suspend indefinitely
their decision regarding this request. This was seconded by Chandler.
Motion carried 5 For 0 Against.
Mayor Bugger read copy of letter mailed to Mr. Rushing regarding the
balance due from his disputed bill, as his meter had proved to be
accurate after two months use at A.C. Brooks home. Council was advised
that Mr. Rushing had called and stated that he was forwarding a check
to clear this up, for which the Mayor commended Mr. Rushing's attitude.
A letter was read from Jack Decator commending the fire department
for their fast efficient service during a fire at his plant.
A letter was presented and signed by the neighbors of the Allen
Flower Shop and First Baptist Church property , consenting to the
closing of the alley between the two pieces of property. Motion
Chandler Second Tollett to close this alley. Motion carried 5 For 0

Robin Streff presented her report for 1976 and advised the Council that
her plans for the summer involved classes for herself that made it seem
impossible to carry out the Summer Recreation Program. The Council
asked that she try to combine herechooling and guide this program as
best she could without having to be here everyday. She advised that she
would give an answer by the next meeting.
Motion B.C. Second Lowman to pay bills as presented. Motion carried 5 For
0 Against.
Discussion cTcerninq Fairview's vote to annex some property on Stacy
road that is'„our jurisdiction. A letter to be sent stating that our
Police Department will no longer dispatch their Fire Department calls.
Motion Lowman Second Chandler to adjourn. 5 For 0 Against.
