Present: Mayor Frank Dogger
Courcilpersons: Mickey Pierson, Charles Chandler, Joe Farmer,
Eileen Tollett, and H.C. Brooks, Jr.
Motion Pierson Second Chandler that minutes of previous meeting be approved.
Motion carried 5 For 0 Against.
A Public Hearing was held on Duke Robertson property. He was asking for a
Special Exception to sell used cars on his property. Mr. Robertson appeared
and spoke in behalf of his request. Motion Brooks Second Chandler, that
request be approved. Motion carried 4 For 1 Against. Tollett voting no. 04- AU.2/
David Williams appeared in behalf of John Arnold, asking for a variance on
the side building line of 5 feet on Lot 17, Block D Rolling Rills Estates.
Motion Pierson Second Brooks, that request be granted. Motion carried
5 For 0 Against.
Roger Powell presented report on steps to be taken for Rome Rule Study.
Step t2 recommended by Texas Municipal League, is to appoint a Charter Study
Commission. Motion Pierson Second Farmer, that resolution be approved
stating that the City has 5,000 population. 5 For 0 Against. Motion Brooks
Second To7.lett that 15 persons as presented be approved for Charter Study
Committee. motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Three names were submitted to City Council for a position on the Planning
and Zoning Commission, to fill.the unexpired term caused by the resignation
of Derwin Maberry. Motion Pierson Second Chandler that Rex Womack be
appointed to fill this vacancy. 2 votes For. Motion Brooks, Second Tollett
that Joe Mosely be appointed. 3 votes For. In the event that Joe Moseley
fails to serve, Roger Powell has the authority to contact Rex Womack for the
position.
Roger Powell presented plans on City Hall office space.
Sam Wyse gave a report on grant request that was made in May of this year.
Mr. Wyse felt that the grant was not enough to do the job that the City will
need. Mr. Wyse suggested that the City accept the grant offered and also
that the City, if they would like to, to provide the additional funds to
complete the entire project that was applied for in the beginning. Motion
Pierson Second Tollett that $8500 be appropriated as proposed by Mr. Wyse.
Motion carried 5 For 0 Against.
Jimmy Eaton spoke on changing the valves on water pump station at FM 1378.
Jimmy asked Council to replace two valves at the present time.
Aaron Clouse asked if anything had been done about the Sub -Contractors in the
City in regards to requiring a permit. Council advised that the City Attorney
had been contacted on this matter and no answer had been received at this time.
Motion Brooks Second Tollett that bills be approved. Motion carried 5 For 0 Againt.

Motion Farmer Second Pierson that Field #2 on the baseball field be
padlocked. Jimmy Eaton was designated to do this. Motion carried
5 For 0 Against.
Motion Brooks Second Chandler that meeting adjourn. 5 For 0 Against.
