Present: Mayor M.B. Pierson
Councilmen: Joe Farmer, H.R. Daugherty, and H.C. Brooks, Jr.
Absent: Glenn Andrew and Charles Chandler
Motion Farmer Second Brooks to adopt the minutes as read with one item
amended, that Juanelle Cooksey did not resign. Motion carried 3 for 0 against.
Bill Parsons again presented his request for deanaexation to the City of Piano.
As there were many interested neighboring property owners present, many questions
were asked concerning the development of his property. This group planned a
meeting with the city planner from Plano and Sam Wyse for Allen for the following
week. Motion Farmer Second Brooks to set August 17 as date for public hearing.
Motion carried unanimously.
Buck Hubbard of Southern Sanitation appeared regarding increasing the garbage
rate and was advised to come back to the next meeting with the necessary figures
to substantiate his request.
Allen State Bank requested that the paved alley ranning east and west behind
the bank be closed, and they are the owner of the west one-half of Lots 3,4,5,
6 and 7 and the west one-half of Lot 8 , Block 18 O.D. Motion Daugherty
Second Farmer to set July 20 as date for Public Hearing. Motion carried
unanimously.
Vitnnnd Boa requested that the city abandon approximately thirty feet of
property on the north and thirty feet on the south of lots 1-2-3-4-5 Block
28 O.D. Motion Brooks Second Farmer to set July 20 as date for Public Hearing.
Motion carried unanimously.
Sue Chumbley presented 3 sites available for parkAchool properties, as all
realtors are to be allowed this opportunity. Council will take these into
consideration along with the others.
Motion Brooks Second Daugherty to table the appointment of the P & Z members
until the next meeting, sines all council members were not present. Motion
carried unamously. c
Motion Daugherty Second Farmer to table the discussion concerning the Allen
Fairview boundaries until the next meeting when the city attorney would be
back from vacation. Motion carried unanimously.
Angelo Weda of 900 Pebblebrook appealed to the council for help in controlling
the traffic that comes by his bouse from 2170. The suggestion was to put
barricades up on the north end on city property.
Gary Cleland of the Windridge addition asked the council if the city could
make a resident put a fence around his yard to protect people or children
from a dog which is kept on a lease, as this dog had killed his dog. Anthony
is to check with the Judge on whether we can do anything legally.
Motion Farmer Second Brooks authorize a resolution to grant the State Dept. of
Highways and Public Transportation the right to place Passive Warning Devises
at the railroad grade crosslaga.Motica carried unanimously.
