and H.R. Daugherty
Motion Andrew Second Chandler to adopt the minutes as read. Motion carried unanimously.
Dr. John Rom, Supertindent of Schools presented the need for the purchase of three
school sites and showed the possibilities. These sites considered would possibly
be a joint school/park facility. Dr. Horn also expressed the need for a decision
concerning the location of the major east/west thoroughfare, as the master plan
shows McDermott as the main east west traffic artery, which will determine the
use of the present Middle School property. Motion by Farmer Second Daugherty for the
Council to commit to joint purchase with the school the 3 districts and the relationship
be worked out as time permits. Motion carried unanimously.
The mayor read the minutes of the P & Z meeting of Dec 4, with 2 items approved by
the commission.
1. Final Plat of Bethany Park Subdivision, subject to compliance with
recommendations of Ron Fix in letter dated Nov. 15, 1978. Also, building set -back
lines be added to final plat.
2. land Use Plan and Preleminary plat of Fountain Park East Addition, with
recommendation that a date be set for a Public Rearing to place permanent
zoning.
Motion Chandler Second Farmer to set Dec. 21 as date for public hearing for zoning on
this property. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Melvin January presented the final plat for the Bethany Park Apts Sub Division.
Motion Farmer Second Chandler to approve the final plat with stipulation that the
site plan include the additional parking spaces needed according to our requirements.
Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Andrew Second Daugherty to adopt the Charter Ordinance ;254. Motion carried
5 for 0 against.
Motion Brooks Second Daugherty to appoint Frank Dogger as Election Judge and
Glenda Ford as alternate. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion Brooks Second Andrew to appoint Don Crowder as the City Attorney. Motion
carried unanimously.
Motion Farmer Second Daugherty to abandon 10' easement in Hillside #4 on lot 12
block V. Motion carried unanimously.
Bobby Priddy presented his preliminary Park & Recreation Policy Manual for the
council's consideration and suggestions.
Motion Brooks Second Farmer to pay the bills. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
Motion Brooks Second Andrew to adjourn. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
