' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE 2007 BOND PROGRAM ELECTION
CALLED BY THE COLLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONER'S COURT FOR
NOVEMBER 6,2007; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Allen City Council is aware of the planning effort put in place by the Collin County
Commissioner's Court, whose purpose is to review the capital needs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Collin County Commissioner's Court has sought citizen input in reviewing projects for the
bond program including those for the benefit of Allen residents; and,
WHEREAS, Allen taxpayers have benefited greatly from this leveraging of tax dollars by partnering with
Collin County, and these partnerships have also allowed Collin County to move ahead with much needed
criminal justice facilities, open space funding and, more specifically, the City of Allen will also be able to
move forward on essential transportation projects valued at $28,500,000, such as:
Chaparral Road, from Persimmon Court to Brook Ridge Avenue
Ridgeview Drive, from Custer Road to Twin Creeks Drive
Exchange Parkway, from Exchange Overpass to SH 121
Bethany Drive, from Allen Heights Drive to Angel Parkway
Watters Road, from Bossy Boots Drive to Ridgeview Drive
Stacy Road, from Angel Parkway to FM 1378
US 75/Ridgeview Drive Interchange
Ridgeview Drive, from Stacy Road to US 75
WHEREAS, the passage of the 2007 Collin County Bond Program will not result in a tax increase for
property owners.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Allen City Council hereby supports the passage of the November 6, 2007, Collin County
Bond Election and do, hereby, encourage our citizens to vote for passage of all three bond propositions
relating to transportation, facilities and open space because they will benefit both the City of Allen and Collin
County and ensure that our quality of life will be maintained during this period of rapid growth and
development.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage.
