Present: School Superintendent Dr. Jobs Hoa; Board members: Ward Parton, Jerry Caren,
Howard Snider, Jim Kerr, E.T. Bon and Hill Beatty and secretary Nancy Islman
Mayor Mickey Pieaoa, Council members, Joe Farmer, Charles Chandler, Oleos
Andrew, mad H.R. Daugherty and secretary Juamelle Cockney
The second joint meeting of the scbwl board and the city council met to further discuss
areas of interest is a joint effort to benefit both the city and school taxpayer. Dr.
Hon reviewed the proposed home building pattern for the next 18 to 24 months and
expressed his concern for a decision from the city as to the future of McDermott. The
possibility of McDermott being closed net of 106 E. McDermott to Cedar was discussed,
with the city to make a decision at the next council meeting and possibility set a date
for a public hearing.
The council agreed in principal to the possibility of a 10/20 % participation of the
construction of a gym/ comiaity enter at the proposed Middle School location.
A joist community education program with the school providing the facilities could begin
thin next fall, with teachers from the school and community.
Information from Western Data and Region R for supplyiag computer service for the Tax
Department was discussed. Decision to be made at both meetings.
The need for attracting industry into the city to off set the homeowners taxes was stressed

The two boards will meet with the Chamber of Commerce within 30 days to initiate pleas.
The procedure for selecting same for the new schools was outlined and the two bodies
to jointly accept names and act on them together.
