JOINT MEETING
ALLEN ISD TRUSTEES AND CITY COUNCIL
November 8, 1979
Present: School Superintendent Dr. John Horn
Board Members: Ward Paxton, Jerry Carson, Jim Kerr,
Pat Dillard and Roger Powell.
Mayor M. B. Pierson
Councilmen: Rex Womack, H. R. Daugherty, Glenn Andrew
and Charles Chandler
City Manager: Jon McCarty
Kenneth Keller, Presidnet of the Allen Chamber of Commerce and
Chairman of the Industrial Development Committee presented the
new Industrial Packet to each member of the two bodies.
Jon McCarty gave an overview of the Development Corporation Act
of 1979. This act authorizes the city to form a non profit
corporation to sell bonds on its behalf to finance commercial,
industrial and medical enterprises.
Bob Holland, Inc. has been chosen as the planner for the Ford
Middle School/Park. The needs of the city and school were
discussed for this site.
Motion Andrew Second Womack to adopt resolution #281, casting
255 votes for Don Brazil, as a board member to the Countywide
Tax Appraisal District. Motion carried 5 for O against.

The approximate location for a school/park in the Greenwood
Valley Addition was selected and the information is to be given
to Fox & Jacobs.
The needs of the city and school for a joint warehouse/service
center facility was discussed. Motion Carson Second Andrew to
retain a planner to study the St. Mary site for this use.
Motion carried unanimously.
A report was given by Dr. Horn on the progress of Reed Elementary
School/Park. Also, the proposed park area site plan was presented.
The Cambridge Corporation is proposing a housing development in
the Allen School District, but not in the city limits. Dr. Horn
will be advising them that there are no plans for a school in
that area.
Motion Carson Second Chandler to adjorn. Motion carried unanimously.
