AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING DURING CERTAIN
HOURS ON GREETING GATE LANE, MEADOW MEAD LANE,
WANDERING WAY, ROAMING ROAD DRIVE, AND ALL OTHER
PUBLIC STREETS HEREAFTER DEDICATED IN ANY INSTALL-
MENT OF THE HILLSIDE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A MAXIMUM FINE OF TWO HUNDRED
DOLLARS FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; CONTAINING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION
HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the public safety and welfare of the residents
of the City of Allen requires that traffic in the City
proceed in an orderly and reasonable manner, and
WHEREAS, parking along certain streets in the City of
Allen often congests traffic and constitutes a hazard to
both property and life;
WHEREAS, Article 27a(1) of the Revised Civil Statutes
of Texas authorizes a City to regulate the parking of
motor vehicles on streets within its corporate limits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION ONE: That from and after the effective date
of this ordinance as herein provided, Greeting Gate Lane,
Meadow Mead Lane, Wandering Way, Roaming Road Drive, and
any other public street hereafter dedicated in any install-
ment of the Hillside Addition to the City of Allen, Texas,
is designated as a No Parking Zone for all motor vehicles
Monday through Saturday of each week between the hours of
11:00 o'clock A.M. and 1:00 o'clock P.M.
SECTION TWO: That after the effective date of this
Ordinance, described below, any person or agent representing
a firm or corporation, who shall park or permit to be parked
their motor vehicle on Greeting Gate Lane, Meadow Plead Lane,
Nantering Way, Roaming Road Drive, or any other public street
hereafter dedicated in any installment of the Hillside
Addition to the City of Allen, Texas, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and may be fined any sum not to exceed two
hundred dollars.
SECTION THREE: That should any part or portion of
this ordinance be declared unconstitutional by a Court of
competent jurisdiction, it is expressly provided that the
remaining portion of this ordinance shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION FOUR: That the caption of this ordinance shall
be published at least one time in a weekly newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Allen, upon completion
of which, this ordinance shall be effective.
