AN ORDINANCE AM!EXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDRY LIMITS OF SAID CITY
SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
AND GRANTING TO ALL THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TERRITORY
ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS
AVID BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS,
ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AVID REGULATIONS OF THE CITY
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, application having been duly made for annexing the below
described territory to the City of Allen, Texas, which application is in
the form of a petition duly and legally executed and filed with the Mayor
of the City of Allen, Texas, and the Mayor, having certified the same to
the Council of the City of Allen, Texas, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held not more than twenty nor less than
ten days prior to the institution of such annexation proceedings with notice
of such hearing given in the manner prescribed by law and all other re-
quirements of notice and completion of such annexation procedure being ful-
filled, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Allen has investigated into and deter-
mined: that all of the facts contained in said petition are true; that the
owners of said property have voted and consented to became a part of the City
of Allen; that the property is contiguous to the present City limits and lies
wholly within the extraterritoral jurisdiction of the City of Allen, Texas;
that the property does not exceed one-half mile 1n width; and that said prop-
erty does not exceed 30% of the total land area of the City of Allen, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Allen has investigated and determined
that it will be advantageous and beneficial to the City of Allen and its
inhabitants as well as the hereinafter described territory to annex such
territory to the City of Allen, Texas;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the territory described as follows be and the same is
hereby annexed to the City of Allen, Texas, to -wit:
BEING a 3.94 acre tract of land situated in Collin County, Texas, be-
ing a part of the Wn. Perrin Survey, Abstract 708 and described by metes and
bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a stake in the North line of the William Perrin Survey, said
stake being in the South line of Block 12 of the City of Allen, said stake also
being in the West line of a lot of land conveyed by H.J. Coffman at ux to Roy
R. Carroll at ux by deed recorded in Volume 369, page 138 of the Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas;
THENCE West with the North line of the William Perrin Survey, Which line
is the North line of an 84.03 acre tract of land conveyed by N.J. Coffman at ux
to Roy Reynolds at ux by deed recorded in Volume 434, page 100 of the Deed
Records of Collin County, Texas, and the South line of lots 1,2,0 in Block 12
of the Original Townsite of Allen, Texas, and a portion of an area enclosed in
a wooden fence but in Imalah Street for a distance of 227.96 feet to the North-
east corner of a 78.31 acre tract of land as conveyed by Roy Reynolds et ux to
Oren George at al by deed recorded in Volume 513, page 518 of the Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas:
THENCE South 00 07 min. West 318.2 feet to an inside corner of said 78.31
acre tract;
THENCE North 880 45 min. East 334 feet to another inside corner of said
78.31 acre tract;
THENCE North 0006 min West 278.6 feet to the Southeast corner of the above
mentioned tract conveyed by H.J. Cuffman at ux to Roy R. Carroll;
THENCE North 79 1%0 West 110 feet with the South boundry line of the
Carroll tract to its Southwest Corner;
THENCE North 10-3740 East 21.12 feet to the place of BEGINNING.
SECTION 2: That from and after the passage of this Ordinance, said ter-
ritory shall be a part of the City of Allen, Texas, and the inhabitants there-
of shall be entitled to all of the rights, privileges and immunities of all
other citizens of the City of Allen, Texas, and shall be bound by all of the
Ordinances and Regulations enacted pursuant to and in conformity with the
general laws of the State of Texas.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediatel.,v upon its
passage and approval and it is so ordained.
Duly passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Allen,
