CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS
ORDINANCE N0. 13$
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ONE-WAY TRAFFIC FLOW IN
AN ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK 2, OLD DONATION IN THE
CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS; AND ESTABLISHING A 10 MPH
SPEED LIMIT; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; PROVIDING
FOR THE PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the public safety of the City of Allen
requires that traffic in the City proceed in an orderly
and reasonable manner; and,
WHEREAS, the alley herein mentioned is narrow with
a large number of people around it; and,
WHEREAS, all action required of the City prior to
setting a maximum speed limit within its corporate limits
pursuant to Article 6701D, Section 169B of the revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, has been taken by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Allen, Texas, deems it
in the public interest to change the flow of traffic and
to alter the standard speed limit in the alley herein
mentioned in the City of Allen;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,
CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the direction of traffic moving
through the alley, running North and South, located in
Block 2, Old Donation, City of Allen, is hereby established
to be one-way traffic only and that being toward the South.
SECTION 2: That the maximum prima facie speed limit
upon said alley located in Block 2 is hereby set at 10 MPH.
SECTION 3: That after the effective date of this
Ordinance described below any person violating any
provision of this Ordinance shall be fined a sum not
to exceed $200.00 for each offense.
SECTION 4: The caption of this Ordinance shall be
published one time in a weekly newspaper having general
circulation in the City of Allen, Texas, and will be
effective immediately after its adoption and its
publication and it is so ordered.
