Allen City Council
July 14, 1980
Present: Mayor M.B. Pierson
Councilmen: Rex Womack, Richard Chumbley, H.R. Daugherty, and
Glenn Andrew
Absent: Joe Farmer and J.M. McClure
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor in order to establish
a water distribution program. The extremely dry weather conditions
had generated such demands on the water supply that the water storage
level had reached a dangerous level. Mr. Carl Rhiem from North Texas
Municipal Water District was present to explain that they could not
distribute adequately until the larger line was complete in June of
1981; therefore the need was urgent for the City to establish an
emergency watering program. Motion Womack Second Daugherty to adopt
Ordinance 4307, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR OUTSIDE WATERING AND LAND-
SCAPE IRRIGATION; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE
SEVERABILITY AND PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF. Motion carried
5 for 0 against. This ordinance restricted the use of water for outside
watering from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
Motion Andrew Second Daugherty to adjourn. Motion carried 5 for 0 against.
These minutes read and approved this the 7&L, day of C , 1980.
