REGULAR SESSION
Allen City Council
July 17, 1980
Present: Mayor M.B. Pierson
Councilmen: Rex Womack, Glenn Andrew, Richard Chumbley, Joe Farme,
and H.R. Daugherty
Absent: J.M.McClure
The meeting was called to order by Mayor M.B. Pierson. Motion
Andrew Second Chumbley to approve the minutes of the July 3
meeting. Motion carried 6 for 0 against.
A Public Hearing was held on a request from Goodman Homes for a variance
on the side lot set back line on lots 14 and 15, Block 2, High Meadows
#2. Motion Farmer Second Daugherty to approve the variance from a 25'
to 15' set back. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. The builder will be
responsible should any questions arise concerning the survey as platted.
A Public Hearing was held on an annexation request from Richard Carroll.
This tract contains approximately 1 acre. No one spoke against this
request and the annexation will be considered at the August 7th meeting.
Motion Womack Second Daugherty to hold a Public Hearing August 7 on a
variance request by Don Brazil on a piece of property at 606 W. McDermott.
Motion carried 6 for 0 against. This request is to allow him to build
an office building in a Local Retail zoning with a 0 lot line in the rear.
Motion Chumbley to set August 21for a Public Hearing on a zoning change
request from Del Morton. This had previously been set for August 7. Motioi
seconded by Womack and vote was 6 for 0 against. Motion carried.
Mayor Pierson expressed the council's appreciation to the retiring Planninc_
and Zoning members. Joe Farmer recommended 4 people to fill these
vacancies and they are as follows: Jim Pendleton, Jim Wolfe, Sarah
Chumbley and Wayne Armand. Motion Womack Second Andrew to accept Farmer's
recommendations. Motion carried 6 for 0 against.
Names were submitted for the Parks and Recreation Board and others will
be considered if their names are submitted. Motion Andrew Second Farmer
to appoint this board at the August 21 meeting. Motion carried 6 for 0
against.

A Special meeting was set for Thursday, July 24 in order to hold a
PROPOSED USE HEARING FOR REVENUE SHARING FUNDS.
Motion Farmer Second Daugherty to adjourn. motion carried 6 for 0 against.
