' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE
OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING FUNDING FOR
A DIGITAL LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINT SYSTEM AND AN AUTOMATED
FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM, IF AWARDED; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, and its police department, must fingerprint suspects that are arrested for various
criminal charges; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Police Department has recognized the need for a system that will utilize Digital
Live Scan Fingerprints; and,
WHEREAS, these fingerprints will insure accuracy in identifying subjects and improve the hooking process of
suspects charged with criminal offenses; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen also recognizes the need for an Automated Fingerprint Identification System to
store fingerprint records for evidence comparisons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the grant from the Criminal
Justice Division Funds for a Digital Live Scan and Automated Fingerprint Identification System, funds will be
returned to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in full.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant from
the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the Allen
Police Department in funding a Digital Live Scan and Automated Fingerprint Identification System.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.

COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE I1Tn DAY OF JANUARY, 2005.
