A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO ACCEPT A STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT
FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY,
OFFICE OF DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS IN THE AMOUNT OF $235,013; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, and its fire department, wishes to provide superior emergency
services to the residents and visitors of Allen; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Fire Department has recognized the need for specialized equipment
to respond to acts of terrorism; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen Fire Department wishes to equip its personnel to be first responders
to acts of terrorism, including biological or chemical threats, within the city limits of Allen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the State Homeland Security Grant
' from the United States Department of Homeland Security, Office of Domestic Preparedness in the
amount of $235,013 for the purchase of specialized equipment for responding to acts of terrorism.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance
with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so resolved.
