' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING
CHAPTER 3 ANIMAL CONTROL SECTION 34 RELATING TO VACCINATION OF
DOGS AND CATS REQUIRED; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 34 of Chapter 3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen, Texas be amended
in part to read as follows:
"Sec. 34. Vaccination
The owner of a dog, cat, ferret or miniature swine shall have the animal vaccinated against
rabies by a licensed veterinarian by the time the animal is four (4) months of age. The animal
must receive a booster within the twelve month interval following the initial vaccination. Every
animal must be re -vaccinated against rabies at least once every three (3) years."
SECTION 2. Should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance
' or the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be adjudged or held to be void or unconstitutional, the same
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of said ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as
amended hereby, which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. All provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen, Texas, in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other provisions not in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, as the law and charter
in such cases provide.
