RESOLUTION NO. 2118-11-02(R)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES FOR
BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND CONCRETE
WORK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas requires applications for building permits; and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article I, Section 4-4, authorizes the City Council to establish permit fees by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish the fees and charges set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby establishes the following permit fees and charges for building,
electrical, plumbing, mechanical and concrete works:
(1) Single-family dwelling or townhouse (attached or detached): Six hundred dollars ($600) up
to three thousand (3,000) square feet of air conditioned space plus ten cents ($0.10) each
additional square foot of air conditioned space.
(2) Duplex: Six hundred dollars ($600) per dwelling unit.
(3) Apartments, multifamily; Four hundred dollars ($400) each dwelling unit; minimum fee six
hundred fifty dollars ($650).
(4) Shell buildings: $4.50 per $1,000 valuation of project. Minimum fee six hundred dollars
($600).
(5) Interior finish -out: $4.50 per $1,000 valuation of project. Minimum fee three hundred
dollars ($300).
(6) Finished Commercial Building: $4.50 per $1,000 valuation of project. Minimum fee four
hundred fifty dollars ($450).
(7) Alterations and repairs (applies to single fee items such as electrical, HVAC, or plumbing
permits): Minimum fee – Fifty dollars ($50).
Market Valuation Permit Fee
$0—$10,000 $10 per $1,000 or fraction thereof
$101001—$100,000 $100 for the fust $10,000 + $5 for each
additional $1,000.
$100,001 and over $550 for the Fust $100,000 + $2 for each
additional $1,000
(8) Commercial additions (see Item 6, finished commercial building).
(9) Residential additions: $0.20 per square foot, minimum fee $100.

SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately ft= and after its passage, provided
however, the fees and charges established herein shall take effect on January 1, 2003.
