' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, HERINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT,^ ADOPTING
MINOR UPDATES TO THE CITY OF ALLEN'S PARKS, RECREATION AND
OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN 2000 — 2010, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REMAINING
ELIGIBLE IN THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT'S GRANT
PROGRAM REFERRED TO AS THE TEXAS RECREATION AND PARKS
ACCOUNT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, hereinafter referred to as "TPWD" requires minor
updates to Parks and Recreation Master Plans every two years, and major updates every five years, to remain
eligible for grant assistance; and,
WHEREAS, minor updates have been made to the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan 2000 - 2010 to
reflect the recreational priorities, implementation program and accomplishments, and park and facility
inventory; and,
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board has reviewed the updates to the Parks, Recreation and Open
Space Master Plan 2000 — 2010 and recommends the City Council adopt the updated Parks, Recreation, and
Open Space Master Plan 2000 — 2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, IN
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT;
' SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, adopt the updates to the Parks, Recreation and
Open Space Master Plan 2000 — 2010, attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
SECTION 2. A copy of this resolution be presented to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Recreational Giants
Branch with the updated recreational priorities, implementation program and accomplishments, and park and
facility inventory.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
