ORDINANCE NO. 2010-12-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF SPRING GARDEN DRIVE IN ITS
ENTIRETY TO AZALEA DRIVE AS DESCRIBED ON EXHIBIT "A'; PROVIDING
FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A REPEALING CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, has deemed it appropriate to
change the name of Spring Garden Drive in its entirety to Azalea Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the Allen Land Development Code requires that proposed extensions of any existing streets
shall have the same name; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that renaming this portion of Spring Garden Drive to Azalea
Drive is consistent with the Allen Land Development Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The name of Spring Garden Drive in its entirety shall be changed to Azalea Drive as shown
on Exhibit "A" attached hereto. The Traffic Engineer is directed to correct the maps and records of the City
to reflect the change in street name herein and to cause appropriate signage to be erected.
' SECTION 2. Should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this
ordinance, be adjudged or held to be void or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of said ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. All ordinances of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed; provided, however that all other provisions of said
ordinances not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and it is accordingly
so ordained.
