A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE CITIES OF FRISCO, MCKMNEY, AND
PLANO WITH THE INTENT TO CONSIDER PLANNING AND FUNDING THE
CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING
ARTS TO BE USED JOINTLY BY THESE ENTITIES; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Cities of Frisco, McKinney, and Plano deem it appropriate to consider creating a joint -use
facility for the Performing Arts for use by each of the cities and their various performing arts groups as well as
for commercial purposes that further the arts; and,
WHEREAS, each entity has determined that the public purpose of preserving and promoting the general
welfare is served by jointly participating in this endeavor; and,
WHEREAS, the exact location, size and costs for a Performing Arts Center have not been finally
determined; and,
WHEREAS, because of the uncertainties as to the cost, location and size of an ultimate facility, each city
will, at a later date, establish its own responsibilities for funding, constructing and maintaining this facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
' COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Each entity shall prepare a resolution with the intent to consider funding of a Performing Arts
Center that can be used by each participating entity and that such commitment is subject to the funds approved
by each city for this project
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective from and after its passage.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE le DAY OF OCTOBER, 2001.

CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A CENTER FOR THE
PERFORMING ARTS TO BE USED JOINTLY BY THESE ENTITIES.

of a Performing Arts Center that can be used by each participating entity and
