' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION STATEWIDE
TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR A PROJECT
NOMINATION PROVIDED BY THE TRANSPORTATION EQUITY ACT FOR THE
21' CENTURY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, Texas desires to submit an application for the Allen Historic Railroad Water
Station Restoration and Trail Linkage; and,
WHEREAS, the restoration of the water station and completion of regional trail linkages will preserve
historically significant transportation facilities, establish public access to these facilities and complete
pedestrian/hicycle linkages; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to establish its commitment to pledge 20% match for that portion of the right-
of-way located within the Allen corporate limits in accordance with the Texas Transportation Enhancement
Program guidelines; and,
' WHEREAS, the City commits to the project's development, implementation, construction, maintenance and
financing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: The submission of the Allen Historic Railroad Water Station Restoration and Trail Linkage
to the Texas Department of Transportation Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program is approved and
the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary for the submission.
SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective from and atter its passage.

COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE 19r" DAY OF APRIL, 2001.
