A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION STATEWIDE
ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR A PROJECF
NOMINATION PROVIDED BY THE TRANSPORTATION EQUITY ACT FOR THE
215T CENTURY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, Texas desires to submit a joint application for the Union Pacific Railroad
Corridor Acquisition and Conversion in conjunction with the City of Plano, City of McKinney, Town of
Fairview and Collin County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the corridor will be acquired for the purpose of preserving transit options and completing
regional trail linkages within the urbanized area of Collin County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to establish its commitment to pledge 20% match for that portion of the right-
of-way located within the Allen corporate limits in accordance with the Texas Transportation Enhancement
Program guidelines; and,
' WHEREAS, the City commits to the project's development, implementation, construction, maintenance and
financing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: The submission of the Union Pacific Railroad Corridor Acquisition and Conversion to the
Texas Department of Transportation Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program is approved; and the
City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary for the submission.
SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective from and after its passage.
