A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF HART INTERCIVIC eSLATE
VOTING SYSTEM TO BE USED FOR THE MAY 5, 2001, JOINT GENERAL
ELECTION WITH THE ALLEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Allen City Council has authorized contacting with the Electrons Administrator of Collin
County to provide election services for the May Joint General Election with the Allen Independent School
District; and,
WHEREAS, the Allen City Council has ordered the City of Allen Joint General Election for May 5, 2001;
and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Allen City Council that the citizens of Allen have the opportunity to
evaluate an alternative voting system.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT: The City of Allen and the Allen Independent School District May 5,
2001, Joint General Election shall use Hart InterCivic's eSlate Direct Record Electronic Voting System for
early voting by personal appearance and election day, for this election only, providing an opportunity for the
citizens of Allen to evaluate an alternative voting system. Punch cud voting shall continue to be used for early
' voting by mail.
