' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE CITY OF MCKINNEY'S APPLICATION
FOR A TEXAS PRESERVATION FUND GRANT FOR THE RESTORATION OF
THE HISTORIC COLLIN COUNTY COURTHOUSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen recognizes the importance of the old courthouse on the square and its unique
relationship to downtown McKinney; and
WHEREAS, the City of McKinney has expressed an interest in utilizing the building within its Quality of Life
Program and has further expressed that interest by preparing a feasibility study for the adaptive reuse of the
building; and
WHEREAS, the City of McKinney has approved an application for a Texas Preservation Furl Grant that will
permit the continuation of the study by preparation of the detailed design and construction cost budget phase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT the City of Allen supports the City of McKinney in its application for
a Texas Preservation Fond Grant for the restoration of the historic Collin County Courthouse.
